Octavia minor. Augustus's full sister. She is the mother of the two Antonias depicted on the south wall. Marc Antony was their father. She is the grandmother of Claudius of I, Claudius through Antonia minor. By the time Ara pacis was built she was a recluse. She never recovered from the death of her son Marcellus. Marcellus died in 22-23BC at the age of only 20. he was Julia's first husband, and Augustus's chosen heir until his untimely death. Marcellus was the first of the family to have his ashes interred in the Mausoleum of Augustus.
