Her0123 Palaestra
Palaestra. Herculaneum. Her0123 you can see that these are no ordinary snakes. See the crests on top of the snakes’ head and the beard-like crest on the lower jaw. These were supernatural snakes called agathodemons. They were the servants of Bona Dea an important pre-Greek, Roman hearth and home goddess.
