Inti Raymi Festival--Cusco, Peru
The Inti Raymi festival is the recreation of the Inca ceremony welcoming the return of the sun each year on the day of the winter solstice. It begins early in the day in Cusco and then continues out to Sacsayhuaman where the main celebration takes place.

The Quechuas are indigenous Peruvians. They are the descendents of the Inca empire. These photos give only a very small and incomplete look at them. Their faces reflect weariness, difficult lives and hard work. Children are old while still young.
